Hoya
Hoya plants—aka Wax Plants—are tropical beauties known for their thick, waxy leaves and gorgeous, fragrant flowers that look like they’re made of porcelain. They’re easygoing, slow growers with a loyal fan base, and once you get one, you’ll probably want more.
Watering Tips
Let the soil dry out between waterings. Hoyas are semi-succulent and store water in their leaves. Water less often in winter when growth slows. They hate soggy soil—when in doubt, wait it out before watering again.
light requirements
Hoyas love bright, indirect light—they’ll bloom best with plenty of it. Can tolerate some direct sun, especially in the morning. In low light, you may get healthy leaves but little to no flowers.
Tips & tricks
Prefer higher humidity, especially for flowering, but will tolerate normal indoor levels. Warm temps (60–85°F) are ideal. They love bathrooms or kitchens with steamy air!
info
Hoyas are non-toxic to pets and humans, making them safe for households with furry friends. That said, the sap can be a mild irritant, so it’s still smart to wash your hands after pruning.
